Do some more black and white using strobes this time instead of normal portraits I decided to go sporty and get some athletes into my home made studios.
These shots are of Alex who needed pics of him posing for a bar job in the city.
Using one light from a above on camera left and shooting him straight on.
Here’s Photo of took of a lady in her 40’s very beautiful but wanted something different in her photo album so I shot her in black and white an this is what I got, she was very happy with the results, this one I’m posting is my favorite of the lot.
Pretty simple setup One light with a small grid behind an umbrella, on camera left and just me shooting her straight on.
Hey guys trying out some black and white portraits with Speedlites. This shot was done with an umbrella and Speedlite with a grid.
It was position on camera left, with a black backdrop obviously haha….ok that wasn’t really funny. I want my models to be proactive when they are posing pulling on something at least not look dead in front of the camera.
Two samples from a recent shoot check it out and tell me what you think. Thanks.
Hey there folks did this shot recently used my trusted 70 -200 f4 and Canon 7D, used two lights and a white board for this shot.
Had the main light with an white umbrella camera left, and my background light with an small umbrella slightly behind right of the model and I had him hold the white board below him to soften the shadow under his chin.
My setting was pretty easy shooting at 200mm F/4, 1/200
Here a couple of shot I did with the lovely Mylen. The first one was using two lights one on camera left and one slightly behind here on camera right.
Second one was just plain natural light using my 85mm 1.2 Canon Lense.
I used Lightroom and Photoshop to edit both images.
Shot these using a three light setup pretty simple. Camera left was the main light, camera right was the fill light on a lower power then the main light, and in the middle lowered to the ground was another light to fill in the shadow under his chin.
Jake was a great young client who took direction well, wish I had more clients like this lol…were beggers can’t be choosers.
Here’s a model sitting on a chair, window light is the only source lighting him up. All natural no strobes.
